still shining
http://www.myspace.com/artson Hip Hop/Rap/Latin..... Rocksteady Crew's "Artson" debuts with Planet Asia, Tash, Q-Unique, Wildchild, and Craig G -- When people first heard Artson they didn't know what to think. It was like Hip Hop meets spoken word with a Latino - Native American twist. And if that wasn't enough, guest appearances by artist like Tash, Planet Asia, and Craig G have made this album really something to talk about. The street buzz on "Save the World pt.2" has begun to shake the industry up from New York to LA. Artson was born and raised in the city of El Paso, Texas. Growing up in a border town surrounded by crime, high unemployment, and poverty, nothing came easy. In need of an outlet of self-expression and having a love for hip hop, and rap music, he began his mission. Artsons' love with Hip Hop started at a young age. He was first introduced to the culture in the early 80s B-Boying (break dancing) with his peers in the streets and for competition. Always changing with the times and a true student of Hip Hop, Artson is now a member of the world Famous Rocksteady Crew. He started writing poetry and rhymes (raps) at the age of 14 for the fun, local fame and self respect. Through the years with hard work and dedication his life has set a path for Artson to shine. The Album "Save the World pt. 2," bends and twists beats in refreshing new directions. The music and sounds of "Save the World" not only has the energy of artists such as Floetry and Outkast but also has the new school edgy feel of Kanye West, Baby Bash, and Eminem. This album truly has a soul and life of its own. From raw, hip hop, to jazzy, soulful, melodic tracks Artson truly has something for everyone. With guest appearances by Planet Asia, Tash of the Alkaholiks, Wildchild, The legendary Craig G, and Q -Unique formerly of the Arsonist Save The World delivers an all star universal line up of artists ranging from the East to West Coast.

Bhutto...
I was listening to myself
The coldness penetrating my skin
As two mirrors traveled the air waves
It made no sense…there was no understanding

Heartbreak and heartache was all to be seen
Anger and mistrust flew across the skies
Light years from the markets and camps of a refugee
While the air waves slapped me in the face
My tears were only significant to me
The minister in her prime
Beauty and Sadness was what I saw in her eyes
It made no sense…there was no understanding

The reaper scorching the hearts of all within reach
As I sat within the comforts of home
The hallway mirrors staring at each other
Continued their shrieks
While separation of skies
Pointing translated memories and history
Only giving us portraits
Of martyrs
It made no sense…there was no understanding

No one listened to themselves
Even daughters cry when they find
Heaven’s door
Leaving mother’s to cry with others
And the Prime minister in her prime
A daughter and also a mother
No longer cries with the mirrors
She leaves us here listening to ourselves
Wondering why
It made no sense…there was no understanding

Hello, Art. Dropping by to say hi during the anniversary celebs. I shall have to check you out at authors den. I am still divided at how much time I want to spend there. I want to, but CTI already takes so much time, and I don't want to overload on my net time! I have to cut down as it is LOL

I was watching the rap vid. Nice when styles are synthesized and it works. Sometimes...UGH...two albums I got are examples of disasters in such areas. I have one of a chinese violin ala western music...it did NOT work! Shame, too, cause the player is so talented otherwise. I also got a CD, again, of someone who was great in concert, but he tried this jazz fusion with some other style, can't quite remember what, and it was chaotic...well, in art, you have to take chances, don't you?

The essence of you speaks louder in the pictured
moment, beyond the words. Sitting quietly by the Window' thoughts have to come from somewhere,
from stilled silence. The window, the empty seat, the
falling rain? maybe. The trees stand naked having shed their leaves ,pierce the sky, branches like so
many arteries ...all my words or that of anyone else's
really, are insufficient to makencomment, the images
invoked by this caption tells me we met in the 'big bang' all of us.......

I see you have riders on the storm in your playlist. A great song. I actually am just starting...ok...I started and I'm procrastinating on a poem using this meter about Jesus and his betrayal and his crucifixion, a very "down and dirty" poem about it. It starts "Jesus a man, Jesus a man..." Keep your eyes open!

One of the traditions at CTI that has helped us form a meaningful and yet flexible sense of community is the Spotlight Artist. It is not a competition or popularity contest of any kind but simply a way of drawing greater attention to the creative offerings presented so generously by specific members. Marina, our CTI Spotlight Artist for July 1-15, 2008, hails from Germany and is both one of our most generous sharers, with more than 80 photos at CTI, and one of the first to join our growing community. CTI Spotlight Artist BlackBirdHyperdrive, June 16-30, 2008

One thing that has not changed at Creative Thinkers International is the sheer abundance of creative individuals and types that populate the CTI community. One of those individuals is the poet known as BlackBirdHyperDrive, our CTI Spotlight Artist for June 16-30. The fortunate visitor to Robert’s profile page gains entry into a world of eclectic musical compositions ranging from classical European melodies and Indian ragas to jazz, rock, and blues. Moreover, as various commentators have noted, enough of his precision-crafted poems adorn the site to fill two or three volumes. We could go on quite a bit about his tailored background images, video choices, and the fact that he has established several groups at CTI. But rather than doing that, we invite you to explore for yourself his created wonders at http://creativethinkersintl.ning.com/profile/RobertM

CTI Spotlight Artist Poetry Life & Times April 16-30, 2008

Our friends at Poetry Life and Times have featured a number of CTI’s members in their e-zine and, on top of that, have now been one of the great champions of modern poetry for some ten years. They actually have the archives to prove it! Their current issue not only honors one of poetry’s nobler traditions with its dedication to our very challenged "brothers and sisters in Tibet, Burma and Darfur,” but remains true to its mission by providing a platform for some of the most vibrant contemporary poetic voices on the planet. It is truly our honor at CTI to present Poetry Life and Times as our Spotlight Artist for April 16-30, 2008. The image of the monk featured as their main page profile image is borrowed from their current issue. To learn more about Poetry Life and Times and how you may submit your own work for publication consideration, please visit them at http://creativethinkersintl.ning.com/profile/PoetryLifeandTimes .

CTI Spotlight Artist Luther E. Vann April 1-15, 2008

(photo of Luther E. Vann by John Schmidt)

Often described as a poet who utilizes visual art to write his poems, Luther E. Vann is an acclaimed artist who was fortunate enough to receive some of his first art instructions from recognized masters of the Harlem Renaissance. Like all artists of note, he shaped what he learned into a style of his own that fuses deeply spiritual imagery, metaphysical philosophy, and strong social realism. After a lifetime of dedication to his craft, his work will go on exhibit at the Telfair Museum in Savannah, Georgia, from April 16-August 17, 2008, and his first book, ELEMENTAL, The Power of Illuminated Love, is scheduled for publication in May. We’re honored for the opportunity to present Vann as the CTI Spotlight Artist for April 1-15 and invite you to visit his profile to learn more about him at
