Sometimes, we have to survive from an insurmountable ordeal in order to tell our own stories. It is easier for a broken man to open up because he is already broken; his weakness can become his strength. Your poem epitomizes the purity of pain and ...

Hey there. I see you joined a bunch of my groups just now. Hope you enjoy them. I have to get more stuff goig in them soon again. I'm starting to streamline my time on the net, focusing on the more important stuff, artistically wise.

Hmmm...a memorial would be an interesting juxtaposition to "The silence of words" that wrote, based on Cens play "In the silence of words" Both reflect the internal reflections of our silence, and the power of our silent actions. Maybe you could take a look and tell me what you think of this analysis.

Your examination of the human drama as it is played out in the context of the American democratic ideal continues to invoke deep consideration and expanded awareness. The trick for most of us seems to be translating that awareness, as you imply here, into constructive action. Thank you for once again holding up the lamp of your wisdom and illuminating issues all would do well to ponder.

Magnificent editorial on "We The People." I've often had the feeling that one of the qualities of the human spirit is an impulse toward freedom no matter the political or social confines in which a human being finds him or herself. I feel that's one reason our physical lives are not eternal ones. If nothing else, external impositions force us to interact with each other and discover each other in extraordinary ways. What we find isn't always so cool. But sometimes it really makes the journey of being here worth it.

thank you for the friend invitation and for your essay about voting. it's exciting to see democracy flex its muscles the way it does at the polls in our country.

More About Me and My World
The biggest influence in my life for writing was my reading teachers in Junior High school. They had the class read books such as: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Odyssey, Great Expectations, Tom Sawyer. Also many short stories which included To Build a Fire, my favorite, and The Most Dangerous Game. If I had a book that influenced my life it would probably be 'Mutiny on the Bounty' because its theme is men standing up for what is right and fair.
As far as my work life goes I have been a manager for twenty years and been a craftsman in a miniature collectable workshop. For eighteen years I made twelfth inch scale houses, working sash windows, working doors, molded plastics, and a myriad of other wooden products. The houses sold in a price range from two hundred dollars up one hundred thousand. Also, I made such things as a quarter inch scale version of Monticello and its grounds, been involved in making a half inch scale of the old and new Supreme courts and the Jefferson State room. Monticello and the Jefferson room are in museums and the Supreme Court is in the Supreme Court building in Washington D.C.Among other things I made a twenty-seven room mansion and made people happy by recreating their childhood home.

Arlington: A Memorial

Sit; listen to the silence.
Sit; listen to the valor.
Rest, and listen to the whisper of the wind.

The wind carries the message.
The message is honor.
Honor is remembrance.

The past bristles with dignity.
Dignity bristles with strength and courage.
Sons, daughters, husbands and wives, forever rest in a sea of grace.

Tears flow, salutes are crisp and rigid.
Valor and honor is laid to rest.
Alone they are not, forgotten they are not.

We stand beside them and bow our heads.
We sit next to them and look skyward.
We love, we respect, and we humble ourselves in their presence.

The thunder of silence echoes through the hills.
The silence of a passing, the thunder of valor is remembered.
Unknowns they are not, forever being in our hearts.

The wind carries the whisper.
Whispers carry the message.
The message is the silence of respect.

Sit; listen to the silence.
Sit; listen to the valor.
Rest, and listen to the whisper of the wind.

The Price of Immortality

I want to live forever.
I never want to die.
I want to feel and see everything, to be everything.
I am afraid to die.

The process is done.
Done secretly, against my wife’s wishes, I am now immortal.
Euphoric is weak for an explanation, humbling insignificant.

My wife and children have left me, but I am still alive.
I have been in several test accidents and survived.
Nothing can touch me.
I can do anything, bad.
Laws of Man and God do not apply to me.

Death and destruction I have left in my wa… Continue
