Hi Robby Baby! I'm so glad you liked this sonnet... It is written from the point of view of a simple serving (or tavern) wench (or royal servant) from Tudor times, who has heard rumours (just as we read the tabloid newspapers) that King Henry VII ...
Interesting rhyme scheme. I like the pattern of this, the way it comes out when you read it. I think this is something meant to be read aloud. I'm trying to decide if this sort of pattern would work well for a longer work or not. I thought at firs...

I really enjoyed reading these Andre! My favourites are "My Fairy", "The Cactus Wren" and "A Dream". You have a visionary style that makes your words memorable.
Thanks Andre! I really appreciate your kind comments.
Thanks Andre! i'm glad you like it... Looking back at this one I see that somehow all the line breaks have been altered by the program that loads it onto the page, so I put some HTML codes in... I hope you read it again some time while it's lookin...

Founder/former editor of Poetry Life & Times. Robin Ouzman Hislop and Amparo Arrospide are the new Editors; they have made the website more interactive now - along with many new features, readers can now vote on their favourite in Featured Poets. I still do the Perils of Norris cartoon and contribute to Resident Poets.

Member of darcylicious.com, a website dedicated to the actor Matthew Macfadyen. Being on the forum of this site led to me being able to meet fellow fans of his, and to actually meet him twice this year, while he was appearing in The Pain and the Itch in London. Reviewed the play in the September issue of Poetry Life & Times this year. We found Matthew to be every bit as charming as he seemed in interviews. Some fans also met his lovely actress wife, Keeley Hawes, and found her to be a very nice person too. I am currently working on a portrait of Keeley for the one and only male member of the forum at darcylicious.com.

I have three strikes of bad luck, breaking bones three times in six years... they say things happen in threes so hopefully that's it now.

I live in Sussex with a wonderful husband and an insane cat. Very happy with both. When not working part-time, I draw, watch TV, sing along with my karaoke program, and write fan fiction and poetry.

Watch this space for more multimedia poetry. I am now able to film outside as well as indoors with a web cam, so look out world....!

My sketch of Matthew Macfadyen for cubbie, a fan in America. This is from a photo by a fan, probably Karen Saunders, who was with cubbie when she met Matthew. Karen and cubbie run darcylicious.com, which is a major Matthew Macfadyen fan website. The original sketch is A4 size. I liked this expression, which is an amused half-smile with a lot of warmth in his eyes, so this look of his had to be drawn, for its subtlety and charm.

I often think that photos by fans are more natural, happy pictures of him, than photos by the paparazzi, probably because he knows that the interest of fans is more sincere than that of the press.

To Matthew's fans I would say, if you get the chance to see him in a play, don't miss the opportunity to approach him for an autograph. He is kind and easy to talk to.
