Sometimes, when social issues are sensationalized and magnified to a certain proportion, they become the source of our fear and apprehensions rather than the isues themeselves. Beautiful poem with satirical gripe.

Hi Khem, thanks for your comment and for posting the poem of Sylvia Plath, so unique and typical of her poems.

This is an excellent piece. It's great to see a true lover of wisdom in this day and age. There is a sufi proverb that a genuine philosopher is a gift from God. I have written an essay on the subject of art in its more esoteric aspects, which I wi...

He has touched millions of lives. In my teens, his songs became my solace during those arduous process of growing up into adulthood. Even my three kids today admired and listened to his songs, and they cried too for his untimely demise.

Congratulations Danny on your 13th One-Man Show! It's a great pleasure to see the rest of the world starting to catch on to the great talent that we have been blessed to enjoy here at CTI for the past couple of years. I don't know if I'll be able to make NYC next year or not but that certainly a worthwhile goal to aim for, and if I do get there, the honor would certainly be all mine to share a moment or two of the spotlight you shine so brilliantly on your native culture :-)

Peace Brother Danny--

For you and yours:

"Having known our souls too intimately
Grief turns away now
like a false lover burned
too severely.
The naked sentry
of a single true integrity
salutes the bold unfurling
of dignity’s simple flag."

Thank you everyone for appreciating my works and for sharing your thoughts and talents. Likewise, my special thanks to Aberjhani for making me a part of CTI. My heartfelt congratulation to all CTI members.

I had been away for more than a month in my hometown in Mindanao, tending my sickly mother who was hospitalized due to diabetes with kidney infection. She's alone and during her recuperation period, I had to serve her - cook foods, wash her clothes and other household chores.

I abstained from using my computer or internet, just living a simple life for more than a month with my mom. It was a great experience with my aging mother, but it was also painful to witness her condition like an ebbing candle.

When I left yesterday, part of our town was sieged by government military, bombarding the NPA rebels in the mountains of Cateel (my town). I hope to come back third week of this month.

Again, thanks a lot.

with all my love,

Danny
