The Man That Poetry Made: Celebrating Langston Hughes (Feb 1, 1902-May 22, 1967)

(A crowd of young fans gather around Langston Hughes)

The man that poetry made stands luminous on the broken corners of history’s suicidal cravings,

he watches splashing in the street

birds cleaning their feathers inside

the crystal flow of words he gave…

The bad old days

Reported of late to be gone and forgotten, the bad old days are still here, treasured by more than we would wish to believe. Some remember those days, as I do, some in the younger crowd have heard of them, proclaiming them to be gone, the feelings to have changed and oh!! What a wonderful world!!!

I am sad to report to you all that those days have not met their demise; the feelings are still with us, the hatred still harbored, the… Continue

Observing the Mandala in the Shake of a Lamb's Tail

The card's name is THE NAVEL. This card has great meaning to Sage Sweetwater in the capacity of the traditional Native American mandala, a concentric map of the psyche. It is a card about cutting ties. This card resides at TAROT BY SAGE ©, a 28-card deck designed by Colorado Firebrand Lesbian Novelist, Poet and Storyteller Sage Sweetwater which can…

Modigliani: A Passionate Cinematic Ode to One Madly Passionate Artist

(poster for the Mick Davis film "Modigliani")

Director and writer Mick Davis, in a disclaimer at the beginning of the film MODIGLIANI, cautions viewers that it is a fictional work based loosely on the lives of its

Thoughts that are racing through my head (Incomplete)

I have a beautiful soul, don't I?

My life means something to someone somewhere, doesn't it?

If I just disappear from the eye of society..there would be people that search every corner of the Earth to find me..right?

Someone does love me unconditionally?

My living isn't in vain, is it?

I have a greater purpose, don't I?

I mean I know I have made plenty of mistakes..but I loved more than I hated

I have tried hard enough..have I… Continue

SELF ADDICITION (Rough Draft)

I am so in love with myself

That if someone blows on me… I’ll float away

Drifting as high as I make myself feel

I am full off myself….I lust to satisfy me

And just a glimpse of my smile does it

I see all my flaws and imperfections and love them to pieces

They are what make me look like me

Makes me different from the rest

Embracing me as who I am…defining what I am

Makes me adore me more

This self addiction can be said to…
