Poem: Spoken Word

Being unable to participate

during the worship service

is a poor spiritual sign.

Unwillingness to offer praise,

while standing in His Presence,

shows a deficient of new wine.

For the obvious silence

reveals an apparent lack of Faith

and failure to know God's design.

A desire of heavenly passion

cannot resonate from within,

when not letting your love for Him to shine.

For the true strength of one's belief

Thinking - Strength: Man / Woman

-Why are men considered the physically the stronger of the male/female gender, but always the 1st of the two to pass on in their later years or more often the one to be pushed around in a wheel chair by the woman?

All that National Poetry Month Jazz

My get-pumped factor generally jumps into high gear this time of year because mid-March means April is on the way, and April is the officially-designated month for celebrating two of humanity’s most enduring creative triumphs: poetry and jazz.

I’m particularly jazzed this year over the poetry side of this cultural equation for several reasons: First off, I remain impressed by the fact that the U.S.’ new commander-in-chief gracefully… Continue

Poem: Prayer Scented Incense

Do you realize?

After birthing heart-felt prayers,

have you seen them rise as sweet perfume?

For their glorious scent fills God's nostrils

as His Presence consumes Heaven's throne room.

Do you know?

Our Father covets this sacred incense,

that burns in the cries of His Children.

He is forever mindful of us

and our continuing battle for overcoming sin.

Do you want answers?

Christ Himself hears our pleas directly… Continue

Poem: Violet Muwanguzi

As a delicate flower,

you bring beauty to a barren garden

with your wondrous smile.

Despite the harsh winds of Life,

you are firmly planted in God's hands

and stand upright in strength.

Your tenderness will always be evident;

avoid those who would look

to trample you under foot.

Let Jehovah's spiritual principles

blossom fully in your life -

Be a blessing to others

and reflect the brillance of His Light.

The Barbs

Barbs

Fred Littell

The corner was dark, but not dark enough,

From the outside, they jabbed, first sharp words,

The words and the gossip,

The judgments made without knowledge,

The barbs stung;

Looking for a way out, looking for an escape,

Checking one route after another,

All routes blocked by the holders of the barbs,

The laughter, the insane laughter of the tormenters;

The stings started slowly at first,

Almost… Continue

numbers and space

numbers and space
by Alain Gracio
Tuesday, March 24, 2009
Rated "G" by the Author.

If we too could follow one another like numbers do.
We would also see the face of God
etched in ziggurats, obelisks, and pyramids.
They too once contemplated the heavens
searching for an answer from a mute universe.
and we still wonder why there is no sound in space.

DEATH KNOCKS QUIETLY AT MY DOOR,

THE FIGHT IS DONE

I AM NO MORE.

I GO WITH GRACE,

HAVING DONE ALL THAT WAS ASKED,

I GO IN PEACE HAVING FULL FILED MY TASK.

THE FIGHT WAS HARD,

THE FIGHT WAS LONG.

I KNOW I WILL MISSED NOW I AM GONE.

MY ENEMIES WILL LAUGH WITH GLEE,

SO GLAD TO SEE THE LAST OF ME.

Poem: Silent Tears

To willingly lay down one's life
for the redemption of all others
is an immeasurable sacrifice.
More painful than His Suffering
were the silent tears
that stained the Savior's cheeks
in memoriam
of those who rejected Him.

Poem: For Just One Day

For just one day, I'd like to see

a tour of God's throne room and His glassy sea.

Or perhaps to take a leisurely stroll

among heavenly streets made from purest gold.

Maybe I'd glimpse the pearly gates,

to find out who is really standing in wait.

Another option would be to find

the stately mansion that's eventually mine.

But seeing the Savior from afar

and observing the glory of the Morning Star,

would focus my attention solely on Him

and… Continue

The Road to Selma's Hell and Back (Part 1)

(Barack Obama, John Lewis, Hillary Clinton, and Bill Clinton crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge in 2006)

An odd point of irony from this particular writer’s life: I have boarded planes that touched down in places hundreds and thousands of miles from my home state of Georgia (USA), traveling to California, England, Germany, Scotland, and elsewhere. But somehow I never journeyed west, just next door, to the state of Alabama until… Continue

Poem: Green Meadows

Beneath the shadow

of the Great Shepherd's staff,

in the green lushness of Life's plateau,

my spirit continues to laugh.

Despite the dumbness of this sheep

to His voice I've heeded.

For God's Love is greater than deep

and to His Principles, I've conceded.

My life is filled with abundance

beyond mortal imagination.

Enjoying protection from circumstance

came from obeying rules of His Holy Nation.

From displaying a… Continue

Poem: Grace and Love

Unmerited favor of God

flows continually

and without interruption,

when you are a child of His.

His Love for us is...

Unquestionably unconditional;

however, His Grace is not.

Grace and Love are not equivalent -

We must not endeavor

to confuse these concepts.

God's Word is always steadfast

and is an unmovable truth.

When does love become?

When?

When does love become more than a word,

more then an affectation of words spoken on pursed lips?

It becomes more than a word,

when it is announced with singular feeling,

pronounced as singular in passion,

yet orcular in scope,

a single feeling orcacular,

a meaning of feeling that the universe cannot hope

...to understand in even its infinite scope.

When?

When does love become more than a tingle on ones… Continue

Chakras of love

...and now...it begins...

the drone of her loves tones,

that travel up the chakras of my love,

a melody of whispers and loud moans,

a travelling of loves avails,

a percussive beat travelling up the base of my spine,

to the secret recesses of my lusts mind.

First chakra

A violet violence of conciousness of cacophony of coitus,

a carrening of loves conciousness,
