Poem: Divine Possibilities

Although Jehovah can never be contained,

with me, a portion of His presence can remain…

since I’ve placed an altar to Him in my heart.

Having desired an ongoing holy communion,

I’ve embraced my Lord in a spiritual union,

knowing my life is one… of His works of art.

While blurring church divisional boundaries,

I choose to focus on God’s heavenly guarantees

and enjoy the abundance of His…

May good things come to you

May good things come to you,

as your heart in love,

it grows strong,

strong in the love you know I have for you,

love that runs gently like a newborne fawn.

May good things come to you,

as you fall asleep each night,

angel of my hearts passing into twilight's eve each day,

may the blessings of fulfilled and happy life,

may they always with you stay.

I call the being of lapis lazuli,

that he…

ka-ching

I am working in an antique variety store

                 dusting, rearranging,

interacting with an occasional customer

at the register an old man is standing,

diligently watching me network his wares

as I walk across creaking wooden floors,

I gesture to a woman to follow me.

there is something I want her to see,

              something she might be…

Poem: Unfailing Love

O my Lord, it’s another beautiful day;

I’m reminded that Your tender mercies,

have been released for my benefit again.

Having placed my trust only in You,

I pray to walk on paths of righteousness,

which are in accordance with Your Word.

Show me my lesson plan and journey for today,

as I yearn for Your kindhearted companionship.

Allow me to hear this morning’s song,

which resonates with Your… unfailing…

Thus Spoke the Passion of the Poets (Repost for World Poetry Day 2012)

Scholars, lovers, and the lonely-hearted all know poetry in their own way and all have their own very lovely relationships with it. But who have a more passionate relationship with poetry than poets themselves? These quotes are presented in honor of their voices and their inspiring dedication to "the flower of language."

“If there were no poetry on any day in the world, poetry would be invented that day.  For there would be…

Every Hour Henceforth: Counting Down to a New Era

Coming in 2009: Collected Visions of a Skylark Dressed in Black

EVERY HOUR HENCEFORTH

I know blackness as taught by my father:

“You are my joy and my genius,” he often said.

I know blackness as taught by my mother:

“Your smile is my robe of honor, your peace my earned grace.”

to Waycross where my brother and…
