Man-made structures can’t last
against the blows of a spiritual blast.
As demonstrated at Jericho, walls tumbled down;
its destruction was truly inevitable!
For it was illegally stationed on holy ground.
Inside out, God moves on our heart from within;
subtly He motivates us to have Him purge our sin.
Against the barriers of our personal defense,
His Holy Spirit continually and lovingly flows,
easily…

O Lord, hear my simple cry;
set this weary captive free!
For I’m condemned by my past,
imprisoned by the dungeon of me.
Break the restraints of attachment
that are distressing my soul -
Destroy the chains of my ignorance,
which continue to undermine Your control.
Forcefully storm the stony gates
that shelter the stronghold of my heart.
Let the destructive plague be swept away!
I thirst for Your Presence, as the…

Heed this warning: Beware the Antichrist!
We know from Christ’s revelation to Man,
that the ‘End Times’ officially began in 1948
with Israel reclaiming their ancestral land.
Be aware and be not deceived.
For this evil soul shall rise up - from obscurity.
Out from the descendants of Dan
the World will take notice of Satan’s emissary.
Although the Antichrist should be easy to spot,
this individual will be viewed as ‘Heaven sent’;
for his…

On that fateful day of Pentecost,
power came down from on high.
For it originated with God’s presence
and His Kingdom, that’s far beyond our sky.
The ascension of Christ had been witnessed,
with Him clearly rising above the clouds;
He was no longer bound by planetary constraint
and the opinionated amazement of the crowd.
Upon the Earth, a violent breeze blew;
it brought forth…

("Upward" - detail from an old kindergarten painting)
The Idler was born of a combination of concepts discovered while exploring various domains of knowledge during the second half of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s.
« The idler who does not arise when it is time to arise, who is full of sloth though young and strong,…

I say yes, I understand that as artist we often may not feel that we have power and when it comes to being commissioned by a company like Coke we may be happy just to do it without proper artistic credit, etc... If we don't have our work and lives documented, it is like that 150 year old photo found in someone's attic and no one know's who the people are and who took the picture. If any artist needs the help of an attorney,
Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts
VLA…

The black art community has that small town feel. The good thing is that it is a place where, for the most part, everyone knows their neighbor. Most of us do a number of the same shows and even have a lot of the same collectors. It's like a family reunion of sorts with its own hierarchy. While I was visiting the Joy Smith Gallery in Memphis, TN several years ago I was introduced to an artist by the name of Frank Frazier. I knew very little about him at that time. However, he has become such…

I Know How to Love

I know how to love.
I know how to fire your wishes,
to make you feel in love like the first time,
and open wide the edges of the Earth
to make the heavenly spheres become your mind,…
