The Threshold Bookcast : Introduction & Chapter I – Homeworld

The Bookcast

I was more than surprised this morning when I googled the terms “bookcast” and “bookcasting.” I had imagined that what I was expecting to see in the results would have been common practice in this day and age, and yet I actually saw very little of what I had in mind. Moreover, I couldn't find entries for the words in Wikipedia, nor in the Wiktionary. In fact, this is the best definition I…

One Hot January Now Available

Joe January’s story is anything but just a story, despite spanning two centuries. The denouement is less than happily ever after, and January at times comes across as a sort of comic book superhero. But in youth we often view ourselves as invincible, only later seeing the global repercussions of our actions. Yet given the chance to live life over again, how many would turn their back? "American Poet Who Went Home Again" Now in Stock at Amazon and Barnes and Noble

Cover for The American Poet Who Went Home Again

It seems strange for a person to travel 4,483 miles to learn something particularly significant about his own hometown. A Personal Journey of Years (Part 3)

The idea that our (Aberjhani’s and mine) work fit together like puzzle pieces was accurate and marvelous. In one way, however, it was incomplete because the work the two of us have done is only part of something much larger. The greater puzzle of universal wisdom and beauty that we have strived to honor through our work includes the profound legacies of world artistic and spiritual traditions, the innate integrity of human communities… Continue

Home and the Wanderer (Part 1 of 2)

From The American Poet Who Went Home Again

Why did I automatically agree with the American author Thomas Wolfe, who was from North Carolina, when I read the title of his classic book, You Can’t Go Home Again? Being African-American and having grown up in Savannah, Georgia, it might have made more sense to take my biographical and literary clues from Zora Neale… Continue

And What A Wonderful Surprise It Was

Please accept an invitation to be as surprised as I was, when I picked up a copy of the June 4, 2008, Connect Savannah and saw a picture of my painting, “All the Things We Are (Forsyth Park)” on the cover, by clicking on the following link. It leads to a great review by my fellow artist and astute critic Bertha Husband:…
