The Sound of Angels Singing Their Blessings

The most excruciating events in the world sometimes somehow bring out the best qualities in human beings.  Pain may not be anybody’s favorite teacher but sometimes it’s more convincing than anything else. That at least is one way of looking at how the…

"As Once the Winged Energy" by Rilke Maria Rainer

As once the winged energy of delight

carried you over childhood's dark abysses,

now beyond your own life build the great

arch of unimagined bridges.

Wonders happen if we can succeed

in passing through the harshest danger;

but only in a bright and purely granted

achievement can we realize the wonder.

To work with Things in the indescribable

relationship is not too hard for us;

the…

"Calling All Angels" Lyrics by Train

I need a sign to let me know you're here

All of these lines are being crossed over the atmosphere

I need to know that things are gonna look up

When you feel the world shake from the words that are said

[Chorus:]

And I'm calling all angels

I'm calling all you angels

I won't give up if you dont give up [Reapeat…

a bit o' cheer,
And a guardian angel always near”

These Notions of the Angelic

Perhaps

we cling as we do

century after century

year after year

moment after moment

to notions of the angelic

because human wisdom

has taught us

century after century

year after year

moment after moment

that human intelligence, strength,

courage and love

are truly noble

but often limited

in crucial ways

that the touch

and reach of angels is not.

And yet these notions of the angelic

also fortify

deeper…
