Maybe We Still Are the World

With words and music by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie, the video features some of the greatest talents in the history of American music. I couldn't count or catch them all but this list is the one's I could: Ray Charles Bob Dylan Michael Jackson Al Jarreau Quincy Jones Cydney Lauper Huey Lewis Steve Perry (?) President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama on the Dance Floor

Whoever decided to make this presidential inauguration ball a public one must be a genius because everything about it was classic and beautiful. When you listen to BeYonce singing "At Last" while President Obama and Michelle Obama actually dance live to her live performance you know she's singing about something more than a young woman fulfilling her dream of romance. mlm Continue

Pearl Jam's "Reign Over Me" and September 11, 2001

The real subject of this movie sneaked up on me when I was watching it. I thought it was about two old friends getting together to complain about their lives and have some stupid guy time together. Then we find out the movie's really about the personal impact of 9/11 on the main character and how his personal part in the tragedy just broken him so badly he can't see to fix himself or his life. I've see a few really heartbreaking films on 9/11 and this is one of the most pow… Continue

STARRY, STARRY NIGHT Lyrics by Don McClean
Painting by Vincent Van Gogh

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winte

I Agree with Kabir

Day and night, the chorus of music fills the heavens,
And a mighty sound breaks forth in song.
There the Unstruck Music sounds of itself,
And the streams of Light flow in all directions.
What a wonderful lotus it is,
That blooms at the heart of
The spinning wheel of the universe!
Music is all around it,
And all space is radiant with Light.
There the whole sky is filled with sound,
And there that music is made without fingers
And without string
