Poetic Poetry

What is Poetry? Poetry is like gold. My words come straight from my soul.
Some poetry makes me cry. Don't ask me why.
I feel the hot burning tears running down my face. But my pen just picks up the pace.

I write and write. If I don't write...I just don't feel right.
Poetry makes my hands move. But the words in my mind dance to the groove.
Tapping with my pen moving my mind to what I hear.
Now the words that were dancing on paper they suddenly appear.

I write until I feel the tears.
People ask me, "Did that really happen?" My replies are all the same.
Everything I write is straight from my heart.

People don't hear me. It's funny because poetry allows me to be free.
People say I talk too much.
That's okay! Because when I write hearts are being touched.

There's a tugging and pulling on my heart to pick up the pen.
what will I write today? What do I say?
I started with one page, now I have ten.

Poetry is fun.
I sit and write under the tree.
Hot is the sun.
But writing sets my soul free.

Poetry is art.
I never know what masterpiece I will create.
I write line-by-line, part-by-part.
I create nothing that I hate.

Words scream in my head.
They love to shout.
Did you hear what I said?
Let me out!

My words free your mind from the dark.
It touches deep into your soul.
My words leave a mark.
Poetry can make you whole.

Poetry is what I write, not what you say.
Sorry! I never knew the rules. But how can my heart be wrong.
Stop crying your blues. Listen to what I say.

Poetry is who I am.
Knowing is a great thing.
Poetry is who I am.
In my heart the words just ring and ring.

Do you feel the tiredness in your fingers?
Do you regret not writing when the words come to your mind?
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Then why do you not write?

Poetry is needed to express the mind.
Poetry helps me to unwind.
My words I plan to leave behind.

The girl can't sleep at night.
Why?
She writes poetry...she writes poetry.
She writes poetry.. she writes poetry.

Yes, and this too, is one of my simplest of philosophies: My pen points in the direction of the strongest wind while my compass points in the direction of serenity and world harmony." RJF

Hi Ricky,

You're right (write) about that. Can't nobody write like you. Only you can tell the story like you. So I say continue to write like no one is right. Meaning let the writer within come to life with the stroke of your pen.

You are Poetry, Louise.

Oh, and about my writing, a few folks had made this comment to me: "Why would you want to be a writer when there are already so many writers out there?"

My answer: "That may be true but there's only one writer in me."
