A Shore Fit

On weathered piers,  wakes ripple in

Lapping all the moor with yesterday's sea

 

For knowledge tides atop of our worlds

And the Father sets view from the lath. . . 

 

Together we run barefooted to hath

Our shores' to surely fit to the other. . . 

 

All wave to Mother!

Your eyes always sparkle in her sunlight. . . 

 

Under His Sons' Light~

So buoyant and jaunty, sometimes even urbane...

 

A child rides on their daddy's flip-flops just the same. . .

The greatest love seems to reside in the smallest simplest things, therefore the beauty that seeps light out every syllable in this poem. Blessed be the memory of your sister.

Thank you, both, so much...I wrote this poem, and a week later my sister suddenly passed away,(8/5/11) leaving her husband and young daughter to somehow..."go on"

After a week or two, I re-read this poem...it made me wonder if our sub-conscious spirits, our poem-centers, know beforehand,  something's going to happen??? Here, her little girl is trying to ride on her daddy's flip-flops..."All wave to Mother!" It truly brings tears to my own eyes...

A lovely and loving moment in the life of a family. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

I do like the line Aberjhani mentioned, like it a lot. And I also like this other one:

"A child rides on their daddy's flip-flops just the same. . . "  I like the first one for the reasons he gives: it is priceless, and the second one because I remember doing that! In my experience, it was my mom's slippers. Great images
