What used-to-be hurricane Sandy looks like right now in New Jersey.
The latest is that hurricane Sandy has now been downgraded to tropical storm Sandy. Have you seen the weather maps for it? From space the storm looks unbelievably huge because it is in fact more like 3 storms within 1. It’s hit about 15 states and knocked out power to more than a million homes.
So just what kind of “super storm” is this? There’s what used to be the hurricane itself with bands of wind and rain so far out that they make up a tropical storm on their own. But there’s also according to the national weather channels a winter storm coming in from the west and stirring things up some more in the east to mix with Sandy. That’s more than major. That’s dangerous, so whether you call it a hurricane or a tropical storm, anybody in the path of it needs to be extra cautious.
