Thanks for sharing this brilliant presentation Christopher. It provides for many a complete re-conceptualization not only of consciousness but of what it means to be human, and of what our unique possibilities are as such.

I've not watched  to the end yet, but I definitely plan to. In terms of twin neurons, I meant to type mirror neurons, not twin neurons OPPSY!! lol I was thinking of twins when I was thinking of mirror neurons, and the words and thoughts got mixed up in my head while I typed.

I've not heard of "twin neurons." I am left, to wonder, though, that if mirror neurons DO exist, if twins would have a proportion between, them, having the same genetics and all.

 

One time, me and my bro said exactly the same thing at the same time, BUT, with no prompting of external stimulus. That happened just once. The thing with twins is that people forget that they share so much of the same genetics and experiences that what they see as "psychic" is merely similar conditioning.

i wonder what it would be like to have a twin... surely, a source of very interesting experiences...

 

in buddhism, notably in the Lankavatara Sutra, there's the notion of Mind-Only, which pretty much encompasses all those ideas... worthwhile & very much recommended reading... it's freely available online... just google it...

hmm...fantasy-imagination or willpower...well, I'd say its both...the capacity of your fantasy-imagination to imagine your life as you want it, and the willpower to see it through. It's too bad that willpower, in this world, is used in a twisted nietzchean sense, to realize your own reality at the cost of others :(

 

Maybe a point that's a bit of a tangent from the main topic, but it popped into my head. I will share this with my philosophy group :) I will let you know what they think of it. Have you heard, in physics, of "Spooky action at a distance?" or, in biology, the phenomenon of "Twin neurons? " I am just starting to watch this vid, so maybe I don't know if it's mentioned there. I am a twin, and I wonder if twins perhaps have a higher percentage of mirror neurons? Me and my twin bro have encountered strange phenomena between each other here and there.
